Wednesday: Lunch with John Chambers, CEO of Cisco Systems (yes, the company I work for). I got to sit right between him and our new Area Vice President! Unfortunately, no picture (I was quite disappointed). Friday (today): Shook hands and had a picture taken with Bill Clinton. I don't have the picture, but a professional photographer somewhere and my manager do! Hopefully I will be getting a copy from either party in the near future!
Of course, neither of these events happened one-on-one. However, with our relatively small group of ten individuals or so, it was quite a privilege! They were the result of volunteering to help set up the temporary voice and wireless networks for the Clinton Global Initiative, as a "thank you". Also, being the only female in the group, definitely got me noticed. See? Whoever said working in the technology industry wasn't cool?!

| Name 10 of life's simple pleasures that you like the most,
then pick 10 people to do the same. Try to be original and creative;
try not to use things that someone else has already used.
Here it goes tpak!
- Enjoying a glass of cold milk and (soft) cookies... I could list 10 comfort foods for my pleasures list, but that would be a cheap way to go, hehe... others also include, but are not limited to, mashed potatoes with gravy, endamame, brownies, indian food (specifically samosas and saag paneer with naan), and brownies
- Stepping out of the shower after a good workout or rough day.
- Dancing and singing by myself, with no audience.
 - Basking in the quietness of very late nights or early mornings, when no one else is awake.
- Achieving good hair days with minimal effort.
- Wearing nailpolish - light colors on the hands, fun colors on the feet.
- Being under a bright, sunny blue sky with a few, sparse white fluffy clouds overhead.
- Sleeping in a bed with freshly washed, newly laid-out sheets.
- Curling up in my comforter on a chilly night.
- Finishing a good book (definitely does not happen very often anymore).
If you haven't written one or wish it write another, consider yourself tagged!

| I LOVE this movie! This is probably one of the funniest movies I have seen in a long time. I would characterize it as a dark comedy of sorts... after all, the movie opens with Sheryl (Toni Collette) picking up her brother, Frank (Steve Carrell) from the hospital after he attempted to commit suicide. For those of you who don't know, the story is about a little girl who dreams of being a beauty queen and her family's weekend excursion to make her dream of entering the Little Miss Sunshine Pageant a reality. Needless to say, the family is a quirky bunch and have their share of personal issues. It's awesomely well done. I laughed so hard I could have peed in my pants (but I didn't). I almost cried, but before I could dwell in the heartfelt moments, I found myself laughing again! Abigail Breslin, the girl who plays Olive, did a great job! Simply adorable. So sweet. What a great cast!

| AAAHHH!!! I can't believe it's September! Quite a bit has happened in the past month or so (since I've posted)! Lots of fun and friends. Rather than talking about it, I'll just post some pictures...
Hiking in the Grand Canyon. Watch out for the donkey poop!

It says "CISCO"... see it? What do you expect from a bunch of Cisco Systems Engineers?
Rafting in the Grand Canyon! (Anish, Mike, Susan, Chris, Tuan, David, me, Patrick) Doesn't the Colorado River look totally gross?! We were gross afterwards, but it was sooo fun! Nice departure from the city.
Hiking to a waterfall during the rafting trip!

Helicopter ride!
Sensi @ the Bellagio in Las Vegas. Loved the Kobe beef carpaccio! (Shannon, Monica, Anna, me, Fatima) Our annual sales conference was a great reunion opportunity!
City girls @ Club Roxy in NYC. (Aki, me, Mary, Keiko)
 Tiff @ the US Open!
Me & my nachos... Go Agassi! This was also before the Billie Jean King tribute, in which Diana Ross, Venus Williams, John McEnroe, Chris Evert, and Jimmy Connors made appearances.
On a personal note, my cousin Emily, from Taiwan, is now living with my parents and will be attending high school in the United States. I pray that she will be able to adjust well to life here and ESL... as if high school wasn't an awkward enough time when you know the language and are used to the environment!
Note: I do think this
song is hot! It's everywhere and will probably feel overplayed soon,
but I love the beat! I was actually ambivalent about it at first, but
then I saw Wade Robeson's choreography to "SexyBack" on "So You Think
You Can Dance?" and it made up my mind! Music may inspire dance, but what a difference dance can make to the impact of music!
